What the law actually says
- •In Canada vacation pay is a percentage of wages set by each province's employment standards - generally 4% (2 weeks) rising to 6% (3 weeks) after a set number of years (5 in BC/AB/ON/MB, 8 in NB/NS/PEI, 15 in NL). Saskatchewan is unique: 3 weeks (5.77%) from day one. Quebec and the federal sector have their own rules.
